BHR serve notice of intentThe BikeFin Honda Racing Team served notice of intent at Kyalami on Saturday, when Lance Isaacs put his CBR1000RR on pole for the first Interfile Superbike race of the season, and then led heat 1 from the lights to win in excellent style from Morais's Aprilia. The two were nose to tail for most of the race until Lance pulled out a massive lead at the end, to win by more than 2 secs.
Heat 2, Lance was beaten off the line by Greg Gildenhuys and Morais. After he had clawed his way back to second, by passing Gildenhuys, Lance then had a big moment at Clubhouse corner and settled down to secure second position as that was all what was needed to take the overall top step of the podium by crossing the line right on the back wheel of Morais. Newcomers to the team Chris Leeson and Dane Hellyer both fell in heat 1 due to a problem with tyre pressures attributed to a lack of experience with the new Pirelli tyres. Leeson then made a bad start to heat 2 but came back from 12th place to finish a strong 4th. "I expect to be running at the front at Killarney" he said afterwards. Dane Hellyer, returning after a year's sabbatical, also had a good ride in heat 2 to finish in 6th place. The pair will feature more strongly as the season wears on no doubt.
