2010 Interfile Rd #4 - Royal Flush for Lance Isaacs at Kyalami
#2 - Isaacs
Lance Isaacs, riding the BikeFin Honda blew the opposition away at Kyalami on Saturday. He took his CBR100RR to a double pole, double win, and new lap record! SIR Lancelot made a blistering start and led heat 1 from lights to flag at a furious pace, leaving the rest in his wake, and setting a new lap record in the process. In heat 2 he again led from the lights, and was then hauled in by Sheridan Morais and Greg Gildenhuys but it was too little too late. In the chase Morais pushed too hard and fell in turn eight on lap 5, bringing red flags out. A 3 lap sprint then completed heat 2, with Isaacs again destroying the opposition off the line, the Anassis Facing prepared CBR1000RR taking him 1st over the line, to win the combined heat.
#99 - Leeson
After such dominance, he has extended a lead in the Interfile Superbike Championship which he has not relinquished since the first heat of the season at Kyalami in February. Team mate Chris Leeson had his best outing in quite some time. After qualifying 4th, he shadowed Isaacs in heat 1, but then dropped off the pace to finish 4th. In heat 2, he again followed Lance initially and settled for a podium third in the combined race. Dane Hellyer was unfortunate not to race for the BikeFin Honda team following a road accident last week in which he sustained injuries. He will recover fully and will be at the next round.
#19 - Harran
In the Interfile 600cc Supersports, Brent Harran compromised what might have been two solid results with bad starts, the youngster again showing commitment and speed on the BikeFin Honda CBR 600RR in race form to offset his getaways from the line. Brent finished 6th in both races. Jacques Peskens continues to struggle to find his form, the effects of his crash at Killarney earlier in the year still in evidence with injuries plaguing him. He finished 11th in heat 1 and 8th in heat 2.
#2 - Peskens
The season now takes an extended break and returns at Phakisa on the 14th of August.
